What to check before you commit a project to a cabinet line — written for the trade, not the showroom.

The cabinet box is the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether the kitchen still looks right in five years. Particle board is cheaper to buy, but it swells where water gets in — under a sink, behind a dishwasher, along a laundry wall — and once it swells the door and drawer alignment goes with it.
Every Atlantic cabinet is built on a rigid, moisture-resistant plywood case. On a jobsite that matters twice: the box arrives square after being trucked and carried, and it stays square while your installer shims and screws it to a wall that probably is not.
Ask what the box material is before you compare two quotes — a plywood box and a particle-board box are not the same product.
For rentals, basements and anything near plumbing, plywood is the cheaper choice over the life of the unit.
Face-frame cabinets carry a solid wood frame across the front of the box. You see a frame edge around each door and drawer, which reads traditional and American, and it gives the installer a solid, forgiving edge to scribe against.
Frameless (often called European) cabinets skip the front frame and hang the door straight off the box. You get a larger opening, wider drawers for the same cabinet width, and a flat, continuous run of doors that reads modern.

Traditional or transitional home, or a client who wants the classic look: face-frame.
Contemporary kitchen, tight galley, or you need the widest possible drawer: frameless.
Doors and boxes rarely fail first. Drawers do. A stapled or doweled drawer box works loose under a stack of cast iron, and a bottom-mount roller glide starts to sag and drag long before the finish looks tired.
Our drawer boxes use solid dovetail joinery at every corner, and they ride on 6-way adjustable soft-close undermount glides. Doors run on concealed soft-close hinges. None of that is an upgrade line item — it is what ships.
The 6-way adjustment is what lets your installer bring a run of drawer fronts into a straight line on a wall that is out of plumb.
Soft-close as standard removes the most common punch-list callback: slamming doors and drawers.
For spec homes, flips and rental turns, the finish you pick is a decision you will repeat. A colour that is in stock in 150–260 sizes lets you reorder the same kitchen for the next unit without redesigning around what happens to be available.

White and light grey shakers are the safest resale finishes and photograph well in listings.
Espresso and Coffee read as a higher-end upgrade in a townhouse or condo remodel.
The two things clients complain about after move-in are the dead corner and where the bin ended up. Both are cheaper to solve on the order sheet than after the counters are on.
Lazy-susan and blind-corner units, trash pull-outs, spice pull-outs and full-extension roll-out trays are all part of the same line and match the cabinet finishes, so they can go on the original order rather than being retrofitted.
Accessories are on the no-return list, so confirm sizes against the final layout before ordering.
One roll-out tray in each deep base cabinet is the cheapest perceived-quality upgrade on the sheet.
RTA (ready to assemble) cabinets ship flat and are put together on your side. They take less space on the truck and in the garage, and they suit a crew that has downtime before the install date.
Assembled cabinets arrive finished and go straight on the wall. They are built to order, which is exactly why an assembled order is final and cannot be cancelled once it is placed.
Choose RTA when labour is cheaper than lead time, and assembled when the crew's hours are the constraint.

Ordering cabinets and flooring separately means two lead times, two deliveries and two chances for a tone mismatch that only shows up once both are in the room.

One supplier, one delivery window, one number to call when something is short.
Screens lie about colour. A white shaker on a calibrated monitor and the same door under a client's kitchen lighting are two different whites, and we cannot accept a return or claim based on dissatisfaction with colour, finish or style if no sample was ordered first.

Inspect the whole order within 3 business days of receipt — concealed damage reported later may be denied.
Assembled orders left uncollected past 10 business days start accruing a 2% per-day storage fee.
