Waterproof Wood-Look Floors

SPC (stone-plastic composite) flooring is a new-generation, eco-friendly floor developed with advanced technology — offering zero formaldehyde, plus mold, moisture, fire and insect resistance, and simple, easy installation.

Construction

SPC Floor Structure

SPC rigid-core flooring layers: UV coating, wear layer, decor film, SPC core, IXPE underlay

SPC flooring is produced by extruding a PVC base material through an extruder fitted with a T-shaped die, then using a five-roll calender to heat-laminate and emboss the PVC wear layer, PVC color film and PVC base into a single product in one pass. The process is simple, bonding is achieved by heat alone, and no glue is required.

It uses an eco-friendly formula, free of heavy metals, phthalates, methanol and other harmful substances, and meets the EN14372, EN649-2011, IEC62321 and GB4085-83 standards. Widely embraced across developed markets in Europe and North America as well as the Asia-Pacific region, this stone-plastic composite flooring — thanks to its outstanding stability and durability — solves both the swelling, warping and rot that solid-wood floors suffer in damp conditions and the formaldehyde problems common to other renovation materials.

A wide range of colors and patterns is available, making it suitable for residential interiors as well as public spaces such as hotels, hospitals and shopping malls.

  • Shrinkage rate: ≤1‰ (after tempering), ≤2.5‰ (before tempering) — tested at 80°C for 6 hours.
  • Density: 1.9–2 tons per cubic meter.
  • Strengths: stable, reliable physical properties; chemical indicators meet international and national standards.
  • Trade-off: high density and weight mean higher shipping costs.
  • vs. LVT / WPC: SPC flooring is simpler to process and manufacture.

Advantages of Eco-Friendly SPC Flooring

SPC flooring is a new type of eco-friendly composite material, with the following advantages:

  1. Waterproof & moisture-proof. It fundamentally solves the water absorption, rot, swelling and deformation that plague wood products in damp, high-moisture environments — so it can be used where traditional wood cannot.
  2. Insect- & termite-proof. It effectively prevents pest damage and extends service life.
  3. Rich & varied. Many colors are available, with a natural wood look and grain, and colors can be customized to your personal style.
  4. Highly moldable. Personalized shapes are easy to achieve, fully expressing individual style.
  5. Eco-friendly & recyclable. Pollution-free and harmless, containing no benzene or formaldehyde; being recyclable, it greatly reduces timber use and supports sustainable development.
  6. Highly fire-resistant. Effectively flame-retardant to fire rating B1, self-extinguishing and producing no toxic gases.
  7. Excellent workability. It can be cut to order, planed, sawn, drilled and painted.
  8. Easy installation. No complicated construction process is required, saving installation time and cost.
  9. No cracking, swelling or warping. It needs no repair or upkeep and is easy to clean, saving on long-term maintenance.
  10. Sound-absorbing & energy-saving. It improves indoor energy efficiency by up to 30%.
  11. Cost-effective. Compared with LVT / WPC, it offers lower investment with faster returns, less labor, lower labor intensity and a cleaner worksite.
